DGSA Advice and Consultancy
Xenon Technical Services offer a comprehensive Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) advice and consultancy service.
Subject to limited exceptions companies whose activities include the carriage or related packaging, loading, filling or unloading of dangerous goods by road (rail and inland waterway) are required to appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA). These regulations do not apply solely to transport companies; they can also include businesses such as freight forwarders, storage companies and manufacturers producing goods.
Due to the nature of hazardous and chemical waste many waste-streams are also deemed as ‘Dangerous Goods’. This has meant that Xenon Technical Services employs a DGSA for the packing, labelling and consigning of ‘Dangerous Goods’. As such Xenon Technical Services can also provide a bespoke DGSA consultancy advice service for your company. Our DGSA Dr Louise Womack has held the qualification since 1999. Thanks to her detailed understanding of the waste management service we can advise on all ‘Dangerous Goods’ products and classes (Class 1 to 9).

The DGSA regulations were introduced in 1999 and are overseen by The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 and by the following amendment.
The regulations implement ADR 2015 (with a number of exceptions). The main duties are now covered by a single regulation, namely Regulation 5. Variations in Great Britain which arise from derogations are now in a DfT approved document.
